does anyone know how well viva is selling ?? hope its a big success for bananarama
It’s appearing to do well in all the charts so far, looking good.
thanks shy boy hope it does do well !!! they deserve it been playing this cd over n over again lol ive found twisting is a bit of a grower and now is one of my fav on the cd i cant really fault any songs on it was a shame the single didnt do as well as expected but really hope the album does
‘Twisting’ is the one that’s taking me the longest to ‘get into’ everyone is raving about it, and I like the electro vibe and vocals a lot but i don’t seem to be hearing the single potential like everyone else does.
I give it a 10/10 for being a great song though.
shyboy which song do you fancy to be single number 2 from viva?
There are a few that would work for various reasons, I still can’t think why ‘Love Comes’ wasn’t played a lot on radio as it was one of the most radio friendly on the album.
I can see ‘Dum Dum Boy’ being single #2 it’s catchy.
I’d be happy to see any song lifted to be honest, i wouldn’t complain.
Love Don’t Live Here seems most likely as they’re opening all their gigs with it. I’d love them to release The Runner but not sure how the live vocals would go with that one!
WOW! The album is fantastic! It’s their most consistent album… I think “Dum Dum Boy” or “Love Don’t Live Here” are future singles… I think “Tokyo Joe” is the BEST!!!!! As far as the charts go… I think they are rigged.. It’s all music label/media politics..
None of my fav English bands or pop acts chart despite the best work of their careers…EX. Alison Moyet, Heaven 17, Human League, ABC, Siouxsie, etc.. Oh yeah– I’m straight & the gay comment is just stupid! Bananarama appeal to loads of folks..However–What I do find is that many gay dudes are still LOYAL to their bands and want to support them! Respect!

I agree with Alex.
Incidently these are some of my favourite bands and singers and you’re right, none of them are getting chart recognition.
Dum dum boy all the way. It’s instantly recognisable and has a great intro.
Listening to ‘Extraordinary’ quite a few times today i personally think that too would make a great single, but as of now ‘Dum Dum Boy’ seems to lead in choice.
I absolutely love the album!
S-s-single Bed is fabulous. The vocals are completely bonkers, just the way i like it!!
I dislike the original of ‘S-S-S-Single Bed’ SO much which made me dread Bananarama’s version, and they have surprised me AGAIN with their take on a very strange song.
I’m actually loving it and I re-play straight after listening to it….the vocals are brilliant.
LeeJ said I may just love it when I complained about Bananarama covering it, and he was right!
maybe s-s-s-single for future single release or seventeen or maybe a rerelease of love comes. but would like twisting maybe as second single
My choice for 2nd single would be “Dum Dum Boy.” It packs a punch musically and once again the chorus is quite catchy. The song has lots of attitude, too. The vocals are strong. I can see a great video with the girls bossing men around in different scenarios (maybe different time periods). Perhaps two women disillusion with their relationships with men on a Thelma & Louise type adventure.
My other choice would be “Love Don’t Live Here.” It has an epic story feel with the build up at the beginning of the song. Also, there’s a lot of imagery in the lyrics. I would like to see a dark video for this song—dark colors, almost monochromatic. Once again, there could be a scenario like the kitchen scene in “Love Comes,” where the girls are fed up with their loveless lives … a wedding scene where the girls say “No, to hell with this” and storm out of the church. The Eurythmics’ video for “Beethoven (I Love to Listen To)” comes to mind. Wouldn’t it be funny if Annie or Dave were in the video like they were in their video years ago (Who’s That Girl). I know that wouldn’t happen but it would be cool.
Sorry, I got carried away. I miss the videos of the 80s—they were more adventurous.
ed i think you should direct the new vid for the girls lol you made me laugh when i read comment
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO A fan direction for a video? trauma, caos, drama, brilliance…………..I hope WE ARE ALL IN IT??
ONE question please? WHY wasn’t LEE in the album credits? I don’t get it?………..they mentioned other fans (yes Mel, MB and The fab Pascals………….BUT no Lee????)
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
are we getting a top 40 position in the album charts? would really like that cos off the hard work work keren n sara have put into making this album and wanting fascination to put out more singles n if this does well maybe a tour n another album on a major label
wish buk would bring a chat room online would be good to spk to all the other fans , would like to ask you all …. if a bananarama single from the the past was to be remixed and released what would your choice be ??? i would like tripping on your love to be rereleased also i would love a cd of all the demos between 89 n now to be released even over the internet , though i prefer offical physical releases the cd , cover bonus tracks etc
I had a chat room for 3 years. Nobody used it. Then I opened the forum…. everybody used it, then the official site opened theirs and then everyone used that instead!
plze open chat room again
I would choose I can’t help it. There aren’t enough remixes of it.
No chance on the chat room by the way…
I’d choose ‘I Can’t Help It’ too, it’s a brilliant Bananarama classic and there are definitely too few mixes of it.
I used the chat room but no one was in it
was watchin tv the other and aqua was on singing their
lastest single and it mentions bananarama
would like them to do more more more solo vocals saras voice is really cute
