Bananarama will release the second single from their latest album VIVA very soon. The single will be a revamped version of Love Don’t Live Here. The video has already been shot by director Tim Walker and as if that’s not exciting enough, the single will also feature a brand new version of “The Runner” by Buzz Junkies.
Fabulous news – and news I hadn’t thought I’d hear after the unfortunate chart placing of VIVA back in ’09. Fingers crossed etc. More info as it comes in, but in the meantime, what do you guys think of Love Don’t Live Here as choice for 2nd single?

i think it really depends on the new remix , if it sounds much different than the album version . glad fascination is releasing another single . the album is great packed with protential singles but wouldnt be my choice , so hope it gets played on radio would be nice to see the girls back in the charts the runner maybe should of been the leading track backed with love dont live here.
I think it’s not the right choice 4 single. I think Sara & Keren like the song so I guess it’s their decision. It’s too plodding – the lyrics should have been faster and a bit more exciting. However, I’ll wait 4 the remix to see if i’m proved right.

It’s surprising how songs are selected for single release. I wouldn’t have picked “Love Comes” as first single. It’s a catchy tune. But, I wish Bananarama would take more risks. I know it’s easier said then done. They wanted “Feel For You” from Drama as a single but it never happened. I like “Love Don’t Live Here.” It has a sense of occasion … a grand entrance. I’m also excited to hear about the new mix of “The Runner.” I would love to hear a reworking of “Single Bed” … more layered … more gritty.
I agree that Love Don’t Live Here isn’t strong enough to be the single that turns everything around for the girls chartwise. Hopefully the single version will be better than the album version….it is a great song, but just isn’t modern sounding enough for the charts. They should have gone with a more contemperary sound for the next single, like Twisting, or The Runner. At least a cover version would have got some attention.
‘Love Don’t Live Here’ is a great album anthem, it works so well as the opener to ‘Viva’ but I can’t see it getting played on the radio?
I’m wondering what they’ve taken away from it for a radio edit? It could have had a huge re-vamp, but I still think it’s the wrong choice for a single.
Of course I hope i’m very wrong and it’s a huge success for Bananarama.
Lots of fans seem very happy with the choice so thats good, myself, i’d have chosen ‘Extraordinary’ or ‘Dum Dum Boy’
‘The Runner’ or ‘Rapture’ or ‘S-S-Single Bed’ could make popular singles as they’re great covers, and radio like that!
I hope the radio edit is got bit more ommph!!! i do find its the one people relate to more and start singing along to even my parents like love dont live here, I would of loved twisting as its more risky and modern or dum dum boy with its high energy vibe and the brillaint routine (which i know off by heart haha!) fingers crossed for a top 20 and hoping this video isnt as busy looking as love comes!
I like the track and it’s probably the most commercial. It’s certainly better than Love Comes which wasn’t a strong first single. Fingers crossed that it gets somewhere!
Love the choice…Hoping it works better than “LC”…and the release as a double A side…could be even better “The Runner” is a masterpiece…and the girls have a grrreat success covering anthems….the girls should take some risks and shot both videos…as Kylie did with “Wow” and “In my arms”…

It would be good to get a video for ‘The Runner’ BUT it’s just a B side remix and isn’t being issued as a AA side, therefore doesn’t need, or will get a video made for it (sadly)
The video for ‘Love Don’t Live Here’ has already been filmed, the mixes made….so it’s all systems go.
I won’t be surprised if ‘The Runner’ garners more radio play though.

Great news they are releasing another single but The Runner may have grabbed bigger air play i have radio on at work 12hrs every day never heard Love Comes even once!! the new single will go the same way unless Fascination PUSH IT!!!!
I think ‘Run To You’ has that vibe where it could be played everywhere, especially the nightclubs and even Radio 1 – it has that feeling of a reworked classic made into a club track! Therefore, from the first listen of that song, I think it should have not only been included on the album but also as a single!

From what you said there, it seems strange that Fascination haven’t at least put it up on their site as forthcoming etc….

Editing was my main worry for ‘Love Don’t Live Here’ as they’s have to cut it drastically to fit a radio edit, the orchestral part is the atmosheric component, i’m hoping it’s been left in?

i personally would be disappointed if fascination dont push this single , i thought it was a good opportunity to give sara and keren a second bite of success , as ive said before i cant fault this album , packed with potential singles , althought chart positions arent the be all and end all to fans it would help as a tour could happen and the release of more albums n singles n maybe that dvd of all videos and tv performances fans would die for .

hoping, this song will be a hit lack of information is for a reason yeh dying to see the video hope they changed there image a bit like they did in the 80s they looked different in every video , i bet keren looks hot as always , we should start a campaign lol to get this single high in the charts lol , tho thinking bout it thats wrong , let the song n vid do it on its own merit, keeping my fingers toes n everything else crossed for keren n sara ,
own merit would be nice but we all know without constant airplay it wont be , so we need to promote any way we can, if we are lucky we might get dum dum as a third single , so come on guys join the promotion bandwagon.

According to their Wikipedia page (so it must be true) the single isnt due until April. If so, then that would explain why they’re not really shouting about it just yet….
