If is one of the tracks from the Exotica album. Unfortunately, the record company responsible for issuing Exotica in France was a small independent label which did not have the resources to promote the album. Initially Careless Whisper was going to be the first single: a video was made, and several appearances on French TV followed, but unfortunately the single was never released and only a two track card promo existed. Similarly, when it came to preparing for another song to promote the album, If was chosen as a prospective single and was also issued on a two track promotional card single. However, as luck would have it one of the other artists on the label had massive success during this time and all of the record companies effort went into that project - at the expense of Exotica. As a result, the If promotional singles were never properly distributed.
