UK London NANA16
Released: March 1988
UK chart position: 5

The first single issued after the departure of founding member, Siobhan Fahey, was the aptly titled, I Want You Back. This was the fourth single to be issued from the successful Wow album, and the single captured both Siobhan's departure, and interest in new Bananarama singer, Jacquie O'Sullivan. The single was remixed and Jacquie's vocals were added. The most notable difference was the replacement of the lines "don't go away" in the album version to the more Kylie-esque "I-I-I want you back".

I Want You Back peaked at #5 in the UK charts (first chart entry 9/4/88, lasted 10 wks in UK charts), prompting the reissue of "Wow" with a gatefold sleeve and bonus 12" record that featured remixes of Mister Sleaze and Ecstasy, as well as the Bananarama Megamix.

"I Want You Back does sound as if it could be any of their [Stock Aitken & Waterman] artists. I'd rather it hadn't come out because of that." - Keren Woodward 1988.
