UK London NANA18
Released: October 1988
UK chart position: 15

Nathan Jones (UK#15, 1st chart entry 19/11/88 spending 9 wks in the charts) was the last single to be issued from the successful Wow album, and its issue was inspired after the announcement of Bananarama as the most successful all-girl British group. The song was originally performed by The Supremes (after Diana Ross had departed) and it had been claimed that Bananarama had defeated The Supreme's record as most successful all-girl group ever, but after closer inspection it was decided that they fell short by a couple of singles. Nathan Jones was issued as a tribute to The Supreme's and features a visual tribute in the I Want You Back video. Initially the song was recorded for the Wow album (including Siobhan on vocals), but after the issue of the Greatest Hits Collection, it was re-recorded to include Jacquie's vocals and completely overhauled to be suitable as a single. There are two versions that include Siobhan's vocals - the album version, and the bass tone remix that is available on the US 12" which is essentially a slightly longer album version with an extended fade.

Nathan Jones was included on the Greatest Hits package prior to its issue as a single, and thus on early editions of the Greatest Hits a unique version of the track is included. On the LP & cassette issues of The Greatest Hits Collection (828-106) a jacquie-vocal remix version appears, however, the version on the CD, is different and appears to be an edited version of the Psycho 12". Later editions of The Greatest Hits have subsequently replaced these early mixes with the official single version. Also, there is a slight variation on the Psycho Mix on the US promo-CD, which has a slightly different ending (cold end instead of a fade) to those on the UK second-issue 12".
