BANANARAMA
Nathan Jones (PolyGram)

Smash Hits Magazine (Australia) 1989

As the girls point out on their liner notes for Greatest Hits Collection this tune was originally recorded by The Supremes in 1971 after Diana Ross had left the raunch. It is also on Bananarama's Wow album. So now it's been re-recorded with new 'Ram Jacqui - talk about giving one song nine lives! Anyway - it's quite a bit of fun. These three have never been known not to have a good time. And if you have fun listening to this wait until you see the video. (Which, per chance, you can read about in this very issue! Don't worry, be happy!)

BANANARAMA - Nathan Jones (London 12")

Bananarama? Stock, Aitken, Waterman? The technobeat, the backing and the rhythm could be anybody, but its distinctly Bananarama. Obviously a hit, but it's too like everything else on the dancefloor. Dance music is not my cup of tea. . . I appreciate it, it's got its place like Heavy Metal. Its good but I don't like it.
