UK London NANA7
Released: May 1983
UK chart position: 23
In the early 80's, it almost became trendy for music stars to grow a conscience
and write songs motivated about poverty and famine. At this time, Bananarama
were going through a "serious" phase in a vein attempt to prove that
they were not "empty-headed bimbos". One of the singles that was spawned
during this phase was Rough Justice which complained about injustices against
children and innocent bystanders. The single was largely ignored by broadcasters
and music press alike when it first charted on 26/5/84 and peaked at #23 after
7 weeks in UK charts (when released in Australia in August it failed to chart).
